Every year, the Oscars give today’s stars the chance to recreate Hollywood’s golden era.  They love to pay homage to screen icons like Marilyn, Audrey, or Grace.

But something is missing.

Surprisingly, the iconic look from this era of Hollywood was created thanks to a Vaseline hack. Smeared across the lens, it created the soft, glowing effect synonymous with the golden era.
